The Minister for Health offers an update on repair works at the St. Jude Hospital
[25th April 2022] - On the night of September 9th 2009, a fire at St. Jude Hospital claimed the lives of three patients and made the hospital unfit for use. Staff and patients were transferred to George Odlum Stadium in Vieux Fort, for what was intended to be temporary relocation, a few months at most. However, it has now been more than a decade since the fire and the "temporary" relocation of the hospital. Recently, a canopy at the dilapidated stadium which houses the medical facility collapsed, raising concerns about the safety of the structure.
