SAINT LUCIA RECORDS COVID DEATH #76

The Ministry of Health reports that a 54-year-old woman from the Castries district is the island's 76th COVID-19 related death.


Saint Lucia recorded its first COVID-19 related death in November 2020.


The Ministry of Health also reports a total of TWENTY FOUR (24) new COVID-19 cases from a batch of 142 samples taken between May 11th and May 14th. The samples were all processed on May 15th.


These new cases bring the total number diagnosed to date to 4,842. Five new recoveries were also reported, bringing the total number of active cases to 240. Two of the active cases currently require critical care at the respiratory hospital.


Vaccinations


As of May 15th, a total of 26,417 people have been vaccinated in Saint Lucia. That includes 16,889 people who have received both doses.


Vaccination remains voluntary and free of charge.
