SAINT LUCIA RECORDS 57 NEW COVID-19 CASES

Sunday October 3rd 2021, Saint Lucia confirmed a total of 57 new cases of COVID-19. These cases were processed on Saturday, October 2, 2021 at the Ezra Long Laboratory from a total of 134 samples which were collected between October 1 and October 2, 2021. This number of positive cases makes up 42.5% of all the samples processed on that date.

The Ministry of Health also reports one (1) new COVID-19 death and one (1) new COVID-19 related death, a 53-year-old female from the Vieux Fort district and an 84-year-old male from the Laborie district. Both these deaths occurred during the period September 22, 2021 to September 29, 2021.

To date, a total of 36,103 individuals have received the first dose of the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine and 29,769 have received the second dose. A total of 10,629 individuals have received the first dose and 3,822 individuals have received the second dose of the Pfizer vaccine.
