SAINT LUCIA RECORDS 147 NEW CASES OF COVID-19
Tuesday August 24th 2021, Saint Lucia confirmed 147 new cases of COVID-19. These cases are from a total of 541 samples processed at the Ezra Long Laboratory on Monday August 23, 2021.
The Ministry of Health also reports two new COVID-19 deaths, a 55-year-old female from the Dennery district and an 87 year old female from the Castries district.
Confirmation was also received of the recovery of 27 individuals diagnosed with COVID-19.
To date 34, 649 individuals have received the first dose of the Astra Zeneca COVID-19 vaccine and 27, 275 have received the second dose.
So far, 239 individuals have received the first dose of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine and 2 individuals received the second dose.
The Pfizer vaccine is available to individuals aged 12 years and older.
