HIGH VACCINATION RATES IN THE TOURISM SECTOR IS HELPING

[05th January 2022] - Saint Lucia’s tourism sector was dealt a devastating blow from the onset of the COVID pandemic. Reduced visitor arrivals meant job loss, layoffs and closures for the island’s main revenue-generating sector, but it appears that the tourism sector has made a full recovery, and that may be attributed to high vaccination rates among stakeholders within the sector. We spoke with the Executive Director of Bay Gardens Beach resort who discussed vaccination and its influence on the tourist industry.
