GOV'T HALTS DISTRESS FUND

[26th July 2022] - Individuals who have been displaced due to natural disasters or otherwise will have to wait a little longer to get assistance from the Government. The distress fund, which was halted by the former UWP administration and reinstated by the St Lucia Labour Party upon assuming office, has once again been put on hold due to a lack of funds. On Monday, reporters questioned the Prime Minister about the level of support which would be given to such individuals after our news team ran a story about a fire victim at Bishop’s Gap Castries, who lost her home in December of 2021.
